Each and every year we are inspired, moved and forever changed by our incredible beneficiaries. Each one of them facing a different challenge in their lives, yet, they all seem to have the same spirit of faith, hope and love.
When a human faces a break up or a financial burden, it is natural to think its the end of the world. Sometimes we feel like the smallest of lives issues are bigger than life itself. Business stress, an argument, a flat tire, a loss of a job, a divorce, etc. seem to make us feel that we can't go on.
Then we come across an individual who is fighting cancer, fighting for their life after a car accident, brain aneurysm, who can't go in the sun for fear of their life, who are wrapped in bandages from head to toe to protect their body from their skin falling off, who is fighting a muscle eating disease, who is injured from fighting for our country and facing a daily fight with PTSD and on and on.... and then we realize, they have a smile on our face, when it's missing from ours.
This is what we experience with each and every beneficiary we meet. They are suffering, in pain, unsure of tomorrow, yet they get up each and every day and appreciate it. They do what it takes to fight for their lives. They take on the fear of their families and assure them there's nothing to worry about. They share their stories as a gift to encourage others. They thank God for their lives.
I am inspired by them. We are inspired by them. They give us perspective. They give us faith. They give us hope. They give us love. They show us how to LIVE.
I am so grateful for each and every beneficiary. They inspire me. They teach me so much and they leave a forever mark on my heart and in my life. They become family.
We inspire them too. Charity for Charity offers them hope and love as well. We embrace them and show them support of their community and give them an opportunity to forget what they are going through, for just a moment, and experience something they've only ever dreamed of. They are so grateful and blessed by this mission, that many of them shared their last moments with their families as a result of a wish we've fulfilled for them.
We also see the people who attend our events inspired. Inspired by the same incredible individuals and their stories. Inspired by the "come together" feeling they get, when they enter the room filled with family and friends, filled with tears of compassion and hope, filled with love and giving.
Inspiration comes to us in many different ways throughout our lives. It seems when humans are inspired, incredible things happen. Inspiration can turn lives around. Inspiration can soften hearts, encourage hope and deliver us from suffrage. I believe God created pain so we can understand joy. I believe that humans face pain and challenge so that we can relate to one another. I believe that each and every life has purpose and meaning. I believe we are here in this life, not for ourselves, but for one another. I believe that we are capable of choosing our path, our attitude, our perspective. I believe that it's not anyone else's responsibility, but our own, to choose to take on each day with a positive and inspired mentality.
I am blessed to have the Charity for Charity organization as a huge source of my inspiration each and every day.
